BT started its first Smart Working programme in the late 1980’s. Since then we’ve enabled more and more of our workforce to move first from office to hub based working, then to truly mobile working. Critically we’ve learnt that support for workers and the right organisational infrastructure are key to success.
Over 70% of our workforce are now mobile enabled; and we’ve reduced our physical estate significantly – reducing office space by around 90% in many major cities.
But we’re not just one of the most experienced practitioners, we’ve also been enabling our customers to achieve similar benefits and savings from flexible / smart working since the early 90’s.
